Mega - Asked - How about the Rail&Fly ticket?

On February 29th this year we were represented with a booth at the beautiful Mega Beethoven in Bonn. Our booth was well attended, many geocachers informed themselves.

General questions that do not relate specifically to a trip are certainly of interest to several geocachers. We wanted to address these questions and hope that many will read our information. In the next few days you will be able to read something of general interest under the heading "Mega Questions".

How to book a Rail&Fly-Ticket?
Unfortunately, this practical train ticket to and from the airport is not available for all journeys. The relevant airline must also offer this ticket.
For short trips, weekend trips, this is rather rare. Most airlines offer this additional ticket for the train on long-haul routes.

As soon as a booking is possible, we will be happy to offer this additional service to our participants via the handbook. It is booked via our website.

The ticket has the advantage that it is not tied to a train. It can be used on the day of departure itself and the day before. The same applies when returning on the day of return and on the following day. If you also make a seat reservation, at most this is lost in the event of a flight delay, you can either take the next train or stay the night and travel the following day.

The Rail&Fly is only ever valid in connection with a flight ticket or a boarding pass.

If you book the Rail&Fly with us, you will receive it by email a few days beforehand. You can print it out and/or save it on your phone. And then nothing stands in the way of a comfortable journey by train to the departure airport.
